CCOM 4007: INTRODUCTION TO PROBABILITY AND STATISTICS WITH APPLICATIONS TO COMPUTER SCIENCE. Four (4) credits, four (4) contact hours per week. This course provides the basic concepts about probability and statistics including: Theory of probability, nature and meaning of statistics, data organization, measures of location and variability, central tendency, probability elements, discrete and continuous distributions, elements of statistical inference, regression and simple correlation. The students will apply the concepts using specialized software.
